Conversations with Turkey's Career Pioneers – Nuran Çakmakçı

The first guest of April in Conversations with Turkey’s Career Pioneers was the Training Service Manager of Hürriyet Journal Nuran Çakmakçı. Mrs. Çakmakçı started the conversation by becoming acquainted with the students and asked them how many of their teachers they remember, mentioning the importance of teachers who make a difference in the lives of their students. She gave some examples from her past of the teachers who have created a difference.

Mrs Çakmakçı said “It is the teachers who can make a child love or hate the school” and stressed the importance of early childhood education explaining that those who don’t like children and teenagers should not choose teaching as a profession. She stated that patience is crucial for teachers and added that it is difficult to become teachers of the “Project children” of new generation mothers. Mrs Çakmakçı stressed the importance of research and theoretical knowledge but added that practice and field work is of greater importance when it comes to education.

Mrs Çakçakçı said that she believes the future teachers will become supervisors/guides and that today’s school education system will transform into a new concept. Mrs Çakmakçı answered the questions of the students and shared her e-mail address with them.
