The second guest of the week in Conversations with Turkey’s Career Pioneers was Louis Vuitton Turkey, Retail Operations & Marketing Manager Aslı Yaylalı Ayhan. She indicated that she has been working for the company for 7 years and began the conversation by explaining how she decided to expertise in retail & marketing following her graduation.
Mrs. Yaylalı Ayhan talked about consummation, retailing and the history of marketing and stated that Louis Vuitton is a brand which reflects the soul of travelling that started with producing waterproof and solid chests suitable for long journeys. She explained that it began as a family business which descended from father to son, then to grandson and told the story of its transformation into a 160 year old trademark managed by a professional company.
Mrs. Yaylalı Ayhan made a video presentation explaining the character and the vision of the trademark, and stated that their craftsmen go under a 6 month long training, that they work with several artists for the designing stage. She also specified the importance of innovation and stated that Louis Vuitton is a trademark with 460 stores and 19 thousand employees which also produces tailor-made products.
Mrs. Yaylalı Ayhan answered the questions of the students and talked about the social responsibility projects of the company. She clarified that the company uses animals bred in their own farms for production and ended the conversation by talking about their struggle against counterfeit products and why they don’t do online marketing.
