Conversations with Turkey's Career Pioneers – Ayşenur Alpaslan

Tarih:  Date

The first guest of November in Conversation with Turkey’s Career Pioneers was Ambassador and Inspection Board Member Ayşenur Alpaslan. She began the conversation explaining how her foreign teachers at TED Ankara College made her discover that there was a different world outside and how that inspired her to involve in foreign affairs.

Mrs. Alpaslan recommended the students to develop their English language skills to a perfect level, saying that two incomplete languages wouldn’t add up to one complete language. She also specified the importance of social sciences for foreign affairs. Answering the questions of the students, Mrs. Alpaslan pictured the global image of Turkey and indicated that internal conflicts make it difficult for diplomats to represent Turkey on international grounds.

She stressed that our diplomats are proud of representing Turkey abroad and she mentioned the necessity of discovering one’s own country by travelling. Mrs. Alpaslan stated that Turkey has over two hundred foreign representative offices and explained the steps leading up to a professional life in the field of foreign affairs.

Mrs. Alpaslan also brought up the challenges of certain foreign missions and ended the conversation stressing that a diplomat has to remain calm when faced with extraordinary situations.
