The first guest of December in our Conversations with Career Pioneers was the President of TÜSİAV, Mr. Veli Sarıtoprak. Mr. Sarıtoprak first introduced himself and mentioned that he is the one who established all the businessman associations in Turkey.
He stressed the importance of proficiency in English and that speaking a foreign language would always be an advantage in business life. Mr. Sarıtoprak expressed that the students should create their own chance and that they would be starting the university of life following their graduation, explaining that learning is a life-long activity which never ends.
He recommended the students to continuously develop themselves, be selective and meticulous while choosing their work and spouse, be devoted and honest. Mr. Sarıtoprak specified the importance of benefiting from other’s experiences and underlined the importance of environment and social relations. He said that they might become members of associations in order to expand their social circle and be informed about the career opportunities.
The chief editor of Business Ankara Tolga Öztek who accompanied Mr. Sarıtoprak during the conversation, advised the students to take responsibility in different entrepreneurship projects which is important for gaining experience. He explained that they could make acquaintance with unexpected names through blogs and other social media platforms.
Mr. Sarıtoprak replied the questions of the students and ended the conversation by quoting Vehbi Koç’s and Sakıp Sabancı’s statements.
