Levent Erkan ve Coşkun Dolanbay - Conversations with Turkey's Career Pioneers

Conversations with career pioneers began with Microsoft Turkey Deputy General Manager Levent Erkan and Coşkun Dolanbay from the Institute of Future Researches within the scope of 2017-2018 Academic Year student orientation program.

Following the opening speech of English Language School director Nuray Grove, Mr. Erkan began his conversation by mentioning the importance of 9/11. He gave a motivating speech, addressing both his own daughter who starts the primary school and new TEDU students. He mentioned how lucky they are to be a member of TED family, gave examples from his own student life, what he learnt from his mistakes and advised the students to value this atmosphere. He stressed the importance of discovering their personal talents and mentioned they could advance in life by experiencing these special skills.

Mr. Erkan gave examples from the past and Mr. Coşkun Dolanbay specified how our past experiences can shape our future. He indicated that each step they take would be leading to another, that they should be free of prejudices and use the time smartly. Mr. Dolanbay gave examples from well-known companies without owners and those which have become world brands in the last 10 years and asked the students whether they know the terms Industry 4.0 and AI (artificial intelligence).

Mr. Dolanbay mentioned the importance of foreign language acquisition not only as a means of communication but also as a means of learning new skills. He stressed the significance of education and told that it is the only thing which can not be dispossessed. He stated that they are looking for solutions for problems which have not yet occurred. Mr. Dolanbay ended the conversation by advising the students to never give up on themselves.
