Volkan Ersu, Entrepreneur, Founder of HMBRGR was the guest of our seminar on entrepreneurship that we held together with the Entrepreneurship and Innovation Society.
Starting his speech by introducing himself, Mr. Ersu stated that his entrepreneurial story started with the adventure of establishing a commercial business with his family and that he first got into business with a jewellery company. After this unsuccessful attempt, Mr. Ersu decided to enter the food industry when he had no capital, when he was financially short. He explained that he took the first step for HMBRGR with a presentation he made to the management of Gordion Shopping Center.
Stating that he had no previous experience with hamburgers, he tried every day to create the best and natural hamburger for six months. Mr. Ersu emphasized that he has particularly dealt with the quality issues of the product in person, as well as the concept and decoration. Underlining that his first priority was to promote the brand, Mr. Ersu talked about the times when he was in a difficult situation due to the intensity of demand with only three personnel and that he worked for one year to shift from amateur to corporate.
Mr. Ersu said that they attach importance to taking part in social responsibility projects as per company policy and added that they established the HMBRGR Academy and that they will establish the HMBRGR Foundation in the near future.
Concluding his speech by answering the questions from the students, Mr. Ersu gave advice to those who want to become entrepreneurs;
