The first guest of TED career pioneers talks this year was former Ambassador Namık Tan. Mr. Tan was here for a presentation of his profession. He started his words with mentioning how meaningful and sentimental it was to be in these buildings again. Mr. Tan said that as he made a living by talking, he liked to talk very much. He mentioned that it was essential to have differences, a sense of uniqueness between individuals not only in personal relations but also in relations at states level.

This week’s guest on our Career Pioneers Talk was Enis Öncüoğlu, the owner of Öncüoğlu + ACP Mimarlık. Mr. Öncüoğlu, who started his talk by introducing himself, said that together with his wife, brother and partner, they have transformed the company, established by his father 25 years ago, into an architectural firm offering international project services and thus differentiating itself from others in the sector.

The second guest on our Career Pioneers Talk this week was Dr. Burak Erdenir, Deputy Secretary General for EU Affairs. Mr. Erdenir, who started his talk by introducing himself, first listed the schools he graduated from; TED Ankara College, METU Department of Food Engineering, MBA Georgetown University, MPA (Public Administration) Harvard University Kennedy School of Government. This week’s guest on our Career Pioneers Talk was Turkish Private Schools Association Chairman of the Board and owner of Doğan Private Primary and High School Cem Gülan. Mr. Gülan, who started his talk by introducing himself, stated that after graduating from Middle East Techinical University Mechanical Engineering Department, he looked for a job for a long time. As a result, he decided to get involved in the education sector to do charity work.

This week’s guest on Career Pioneers Talk was former Garanti Bank Vice Executive Director Mr. Tolga Egemen. Egemen, who started his talk by introducing himself, said that he planned to complete his education at METU Mechanical Engineering department, to which he was admitted after graduating from TED Ankara College, in 5 years. He underlined the importance of always setting realistic goals for oneself. He said that his reading habit started in his childhood years, and that as he read throughout the years he noticed how much there was that he did not know.

The second guest of this week’s Career Pioneers Talk was Finansbank Executive Vice President Köksal Çoban. Mr. Çoban, who started his talk by introducing himself, wanted to know more about the students attending the talk. He told students that after graduating from TED Ankara College, he was admitted into METU Mechanical Engineering Department, but once he started the department noticing that this profession was not suitable for him, he transferred to the Department of Business Administration.

The first guest of this week’s Career Pioneers Talk was Turkish Education Association and TED Ankara College General Manager Sevinç Atabay. Ms. Atabay, who started her talk by introducing herself, shared her regrets on not having worked as a teacher in any of the provinces of Turkey. She stated that while serving on the Ministry of National Education, Board of Education and Discipline, she continued working as an English Language Teacher at the School of Foreign Languages at nights.
