We had our 14th Career Pioneers Talk with Mr. Yılmaz Yıldız, CEO of Zurich Insurance Türkiye. Starting his talk by meeting each student attending the talk, Mr. Yıldız stated that after graduating from TED Ankara College, he attended Boston University, Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences and upon his return started his career at the Chairmanships of Incentives and Implementation, Foreign Capital and Free Zones, Undersecretariat of Treasury.

This week’s guest for our Career Pioneers talk was TAI-TUSAŞ Executive Manager Mr. Muharrem Dörtkaşlı. Starting his talk by introducing himself, Mr. Dörtkaşlıstated that after graduating from METU Mechanical Engineering Department, he worked in the defense industry for many years.

This week’s guest of the Career Pioneers Talk was the creator of the brand “Big Chefs Cafe-Brasserie”, Ms. Gamze Cizreli. Ms. Cizreli started her talk by saying that her interest in food started with the long tables set during her childhood. After graduating from METU, Business Administration, she started working at a Defense Industry Company with what was a very good salary at the time. However, at the end of 2 years, in 1993, she noticed that she did not want to do this job anymore.

CONVERSATIONS WITH TURKEY'S CAREER PIONEERS - ÖZCAN ERTEM

This week’s Career Pioneers Talk guest was TAI-TUSAŞ Aircraft Group President Özcan Ertem. Mr. Ertem, who started his talk by introducing himself, gave a presentation in which he stated that his dreams about aircrafts started with a plane given to him as a gift when he was a child. He said that due to his growing height and deterioration of eyesight he had to give up his dream of becoming a pilot, which later led to his education in Aeronautical Engineering.

We had our ninth Turkey's Career Pioneers Talk with Google Turkey Director Bülent Hiçsönmez. Mr. Hiçsönmez started his talk by asking students what they want to study at their university. He told students, most of whom wanted to study engineering, to study engineering and later work in the field because this would provide a range of alternatives in their professional life.

We had our last Turkey's Career Pioneers Talk with Abdi Güzer, the founder of CAG Celal Abdi Güzer Architectural Workshop. Mr. Güzer started his talk by introducing himself. He talked about what design is in daily life, its requirements, the definition of architecture as a discipline in the professional sense, the processes at the faculty and the courses.

We had our seventh Turkey's Career Pioneers Talk with Former Minister of Foreign Affairs Hikmet Çetin. Mr. Çetin started his speech by explaining what foreign affairs is and talked about the importance of Turkey having a unique geography, history and location. He then continued by stating that Turkey has seven neighboring countries with different regimes and governments and underlined the importance of this on foreign affairs.
