Reflect Yourself on Your Résumé- Sebla Endürlük - PSY'20

I am Sebla Endürlük. I have graduated from TED University, Department of Psychology in 2020. After my graduation, I have started working as a Psychologist in QUADRO-CRO Clinical Research Company and I have been working within this company for 1 year.

The Importance of Extracurricular Activities

Throughout my university life, I took steps to improve myself not only in psychology but also in other fields. In business life, in addition to the internships and experiences in our résumé, what we do in our social life, which events and clubs we participate in, is equally important. My biggest advantage in this regard was that I became a national athlete in synchronized ice skating. I think that being interested in a sporting activity outside my major has contributed a lot to me in terms of time management, human relations and leadership skills, and these experiences are reflected in my business life. Therefore, always remember that you can reflect the experiences you have gained through your social activities and hobbies onto your business life!

Current and Original

I would like to share the important points that I have paid attention while preparing my résumé. First of all, I have made an effort to write an original CV that would reflect only me. I have updated my CV after each seminar I have attended or certificate I have received. In order to relate my own experiences, I have started my own peculiar heading. For example; after my Clinical Research work experience, I have listed my experiences under the title of "Clinical Research Experiences" or I have written my experiences under the title of "Sports Career" to convey my sporting experiences.

A motivation letter that you can write before your résumé is perhaps the first and most important step in terms of whether your résumé will be evaluated or not. Additionally, a short résumé that describes yourself will give an idea about you as well as arousing curiosity.

Get Support

Since the information on your résumé is entirely composed of your personal experiences, you need to review every detail and organize them according to yourself. That is why it takes time and effort to create a well thought-out and designed CV. I have always got assistance from TEDU Career Center in this regard, and it has been very helpful for me in preparing a CV that reflects me as I am. The CV I have submitted during my job applications was found quite strong and consequently, I have been recruited as soon as I graduated. At this point, I have appreciated the value of having a strong and clear résumé that reflects yourself.

I hope these experiences I’ve mentioned above will be enlightening for your recruiting process after graduation. Good luck to you all.
