What is Human Resources Department?
The Human Resources Department is the department that provides the human resources in the required positions by dealing with all the recruitment processes in an establishment or company. The department evaluates hundreds of applications, interviews applicants and orients them to the company if they are hired. We can say that the Human Resources Department actually constitutes the heart of the company, even though they complain that the employees in other departments are not aware of what they have been doing.
If we consider companies as a system where hundreds or even thousands of people work in harmony and where also constant changes occur, the proper functioning of the system becomes essential.
What Does the Human Resources Department Do?
This department carries out the necessary trainings and organizations in case it is needed. Similarly, it is the duty of this department to detect job vacancies, to identify the required qualifications for recruitment, and to announce and process applications to this end. It is also responsible for checking the references and educational background of the candidates. The department also performs duties such as management, organization and policy determination within the company, contrary to popular belief; it does not only manage the recruitment processes.
It acts as a bridge between all units of the company as well as the orientation of new teammates. It can even mediate when there is any problem between the subordinates and the superiors. It is the department responsible for meticulously implementing disciplinary procedures, and monitoring the dismissals on the basis of approval and rejection.
Why should it be preferred?
Since it is very important that all decisions made within the human resources body based on the principles of determination and clarity, the staff members must have a "leadership spirit". In terms of recruitment processes, human resources employees and managers, whose communication and observation skills should be highly developed, invest in their personal development while continuing their careers within the department. Staff members of this department have the advantage of communication skills, involving gestures and facial expressions, which facilitate communication with other employees. The importance of being free from prejudices and stereotypes and being open to continuous improvement can be appreciated as you work in this department.
