The second guest of March in Conversations with Turkey’s Career Pioneers was Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey former President Süreyya Serdengeçti. Mr. Süreyya Serdengeçti, told the students how his career began in Central Bank, that the rules were quiet strict but that all the employees continue their careers in the institution until their retirement. He indicated that he was appointed as the president of the central bank in 2001 during the time of economic crisis and stated that he struggled against the usage of foreign currencies but failed to achieve any positive solutions. Mr.
The first guest of Conversations with Turkey’s Career Pioneers in March was Microsoft Turkey General Manager Responsible for Public Affairs Levent Erkan. Mr. Erkan made an amusing opening with a presentation he compiled from the videos of Ata Demirer and Fatih Terim’s speeches in English.
The second guest of February in Conversations with Turkey’s Career Pioneers was MOTO Architecture partner Onur Özkoç. Mr. Özkoç began the conversation by talking about the reflections of urban architecture and enlivened the conversation with the visual presentation he prepared.
Mr. Özkoç stressed that architecture is a learnable skill with a history of 2000 years. He added that it is a creative sector which contributes positively to city life and its residents when the projects are realized.
The first guest of 2017 in Conversations with Turkey’s Career Pioneers was FNSS Business Development and Programs Director Aybars Küçük. Mr. Küçük began the conversation by introducing himself and summarized how his career ended in FNSS after having worked at Aselsan for 30 years.
The second guest of December in our Conversations with Turkey’s Career Pioneers was ASELSAN Sector President and Deputy Director General Suat Bengür. Mr. Bengür began the conversation by explaining under what circumstances ASELSAN was established in 1975 and how it turned into a company with currently 5000 employees. He indicated that he applied for ASELSAN’s scholarship announcement while he was a student at METU Department of Electronic Engineering and that he began immediately working there following his graduation in 1981.
The first guest of December in our Conversations with Career Pioneers was the President of TÜSİAV, Mr. Veli Sarıtoprak. Mr. Sarıtoprak first introduced himself and mentioned that he is the one who established all the businessman associations in Turkey.
The second guest of our conversations with career pioneers was Mesa Mesken A.Ş. Vice President of the Executive Board Evren Ünver. Mr. Ünver began the conversation by explaining how he started his career at the Andersen Consulting company after completing his graduate and post-graduate studies abroad in the field of business administration. He said that the basis of engineering is problem solving, which he learned and enjoyed a lot during his career at different companies.
The first guest of Conversations with Career Pioneers in November was Deputy Prof. Dr. Ümit Özdağ. Mr. Özdağ began the conversation by presenting himself and becoming acquainted with the students.
Mr. Özdağ stressed that in politics firm knowledge is very important and added that no one is able to answer him back even when he is rough because all his claims are based upon scientific foundations. He stated, “If you perform your homework flawlessly, you will be doing the right thing, regardless of the difference you create.”
The second guest of October in our Conversations with Turkey’s Career Pioneers was Vestel Electronics Executive Board Member H. Ahmet Kılıçoğlu. Mr. Kılıçoğlu started the conversation by explaining the things they should pay attention to during a professional interview. He explained to students that every step they take will be a determinant for their future plans as well as their characters and talents.
First guest of our Conversations with Turkey’s Career Pioneers 2016-2017 academic year was the former Ambassador Murat Özçelik. Ted Ankara College and METU Department of Business Administration graduate Mr. Özçelik initiated the conversation by explaining what a correct decision it was for him to take the exams of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
